A wedding registry is the best way to get what you need for your new home together, if your home together is new.\u00a0 More couples are living together prior to getting hitched and even engaged.\u00a0 If you have been living together for some time you probably have all the necessities limiting your Registry to those typical items like silverware and coffee cups.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some ideas:<\/span><\/p>\n

Some resorts will create a registry for your honeymoon.\u00a0\u00a0Guests can purchase massages, resort credits, restaurant credits, excursions, etc.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s a gift that keeps giving after the wedding is over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luggage is another great registry item.\u00a0\u00a0You can always use new luggage or travel items especially for your honeymoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also perfectly okay to put a personal item on the registry.\u00a0\u00a0My favorite was a nice light up vanity mirror.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also put items that you already have.\u00a0\u00a0When we moved into our first place we didn\u2019t have much money to spend on all the extras.\u00a0\u00a0A lot of items were either hand me downs or the cheapest we could find.\u00a0\u00a0Now that you are going to be a married couple you want to have appliances that are more suitable and not just to get you by.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve noticed that since the time we have been living together we have accumulated a lot.\u00a0\u00a0Not only housewares but clothing, shoes, blankets and everything else that takes up space.\u00a0\u00a0Think about ways you can store your stuff and maybe you can figure out a way to conserve space with some closet organizers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to get a full set of fine china.\u00a0\u00a0Most places that you will register at will put it on the top of the suggestion list.\u00a0\u00a0I didn\u2019t even bother adding it since it will sit in a closet and will never be used.\u00a0\u00a0A nice set of everyday china is the best bet.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Websites are a good registry source.\u00a0\u00a0You can register on\u00a0amazon.com<\/a>\u00a0which will expand the selection of items you have to choose from.\u00a0\u00a0You can order anything and everything, even an Ipad!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t feel obligated to have a registry that just consists of items for the home.\u00a0\u00a0Times are changing and it is more common for a couple to be living together before marriage.\u00a0\u00a0Your guests will be happy to get you what you really want than what you feel like you have to include.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
